The making of my second semester junior film, Flyed Mind and the process of creating the puppet. The film is about a fly that gets stuck inside a girls ear and lives inside her head. Due my school closing during the coronavirus pandemic, everything was crafted in my hometown bedroom using whatever I could get my hands on.

The fly puppet was created with a wire metal armature with epoxied brass tubing. It was filled out with foam and cotton make-up pads and then covered with sports foam wrap. The bumps/details on the flys body were created by rolling the sports foam wrap into small cones with hot glue, and then painting it with liquid latex. The wings were made from plastic packaging and wire and the eyes are painted buttons. See progress photos below, click to enlarge
