Located in a waterfront park in Charleston, SC, this site is home to a

variety of community events such as concerts and festivals, as well as a

riverfront boardwalk and minimally disrupted landscape. This hybrid art

gallery-workshop space strives to take on the shape and atmosphere of a

modern beach house. The open porch space and glazed window

facades allows for an intimate connection with the surrounding

landscape and vast waterfront property. An exterior bridge connecting

artist workshops and public gallery space brings the user over an open

cut-out in the porch, through which a Charleston native willow oak tree

divides the two buildings. Artists from around the state are invited on a

monthly basis to utilize the creative workshop space and display their

work in the gallery for the public to partake in.
