Pulse is a wireless speaker designed for use in the shower. I sought to explore the unique challenges and possibilities for design that exist in such a specific environment.

My friends gave me insight into the ways people use speakers differently and adjust them to their environment. I took their feedback and translated it into two areas of focus for my sketching ideation.

After sketching lots of ideas, I narrowed my focus to a handful of sketches that I wanted to explore in 3D with foam mock-ups. I learned a lot by placing them in the shower and discovering how they'd really fit in their true environment.

After testing out my mock-ups, I zero'd in on what would become my final design and began to finish styling. I favored the graceful, ridged forms seen below because of their beauty but also their tactility for when people twist the dial.

With it's full-body, rotating volume knob and soft, silicone skip/play buttons, Pulse is a wireless speaker you just have to get your hands on.
