Cass Tech Uniforms

Cass Tech Uniform
I designed unique uniforms for my Alma Mater for Detroit’s month of design in collaboration with Xenith. I was a player on this team while in high school, so I wanted to create something special.

The overall theme was to make a warrior’s armor. The tribal looking white pattern that wraps around the uniform to the bold color choices. I wanted to evoke a sense of being battle-ready.

On armor, there are usually references to the country or team that is being defended. So I included The broken crown represents beating King High School, Cass Tech’s long-standing city rival. The 3C’s and Black stars represent the three state championships won by Cass Tech, two of which were won consecutively. I stuck to the traditional team and school color of dark green. I introduced light green and gray to the uniform. In combination with dark green, the light green is a small personal nod to my Nigerian heritage.
The typography and drop shadow color choices were selected to make the numbers and team easy to read from a distance. The stripes or bolts represent the speed of Cass Tech Football. I enjoyed creating a uniform for my former high school and bringing a sense of pride to my team.
