Generative Art - Exploratory project

WELKIN HUES
Photography is a form of art but what if photographs could be used to further create something new using a little math?
This project is an attempt to do just that. It brings together code, math, photography and randomness to make interesting geometric patterns.
The theme of photographs used :"Colors of Skies and Sunsets". Welkin means the sky. Hence, the name.
Four trigonometric equations that produce geometric patterns are used:
In the code written, the parameters in these equations have been randomized (depending on the cursor location) so as to dynamically generate designs each time the code is run. The colors for the generated art are extracted from the images.
The program has been developed in Processing. The user can move the cursor around the screen and see different patterns emerge. The program also provides options to change the image, which basically changes the color palette of the designs and to switch between the four equations.
As the cursor moves across the screen, the values of the parameters change, which can be seen in the bottom left corner. Pressing the up, down, left, right arrow keys changes the equation and pressing the tab key changes the image from which the color palette is extracted. Here's a video of the actual working program.
