This poster is a tribute to environmentalists Raul Hernandez Romero and Homero Gómez González who were murdered defending the Monarch Butterfly Biosphere Reserve (a UNESCO World Heritage Site in southern Mexico). Both environmentalists denounced the deforestation that was occurring inside the reserve that annually receives millions of monarch butterflies from migrating from southern Canada to Mexico
Unfortunately, we increasingly see more environmentalists and environmental activists dying for the defense of nature, with economic interests being responsible (from loggers, miners, pastoralists and monoculture plantations).
The monarch butterfly has two skulls in two spots that represent the deaths of environmentalists, how many more skulls will appear on its wings?
