Nova AR Calendar 2020
Introduction
Nova Calendar 2020 is a high-tech art+info calendar.
This was a self-initiated project. The calendar is conceptualized and ideated by
Sarvottam Kulkarni and me. With a group of ten collaborators,
this concept was brought to life.

Why this project?
Today's young generation is familiar with a lot of foreign singers,
actors, entrepreneurs, etc. But how much do they know about our
Indian Legends? We have known these personalities for their exceptional work
and their inspirational journeys and we wanted to make sure that the coming
generation would know them too.
Month: May, 2020 – Personality: Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam
Objective
There was no one single objective, but three.
1. To revive the forgotten but extra-ordinary personalities of India.
2. To try and make existing information about these personas interesting
and consumable for today's generation.
3. To experience and understand the end-to-end journey
of a product: from ideation to product design,
manufacturing, and even sales.

About Calendar
Nova Calendar includes 12 world-famous Indian personalities.
These personalities are from various fields such as Sports, Science,
Arts, Performing Arts, etc. Each card has an illustration on the front
and on the back side is a quote by the illustrated personality.
The calendar is powered with Augmented Reality (AR).

My Role
In this journey of Nova Calendar, I was a major part of
product ideation, production planning, and team management. Also, I was responsible
for product design, illustrations, manufacturing, packaging, and sales.
Month: June, 2020 – Personality: Dr. Homi Bhabha
About the Illustrations
The illustration style we went for was realistic. Even though the portraits
are simple, splash as an element makes the illustration dynamic. Here, the splash
resembles an idea of a sudden impact - the kind of impact that a bright
color makes on a white paper.

About Sales
We successfully completed this project in December, 2019
and the calendars sold out from our online store in February, 2020.
