Photoshop Render Hairdryer

A skill that I have been trying to develop this summer is the ability to digitally render drawings using Adobe Photoshop. This is my first attempt using the technique, rendering the male hairdryer I designed as part of a group task during the second semester of my first year at Loughborough University.
I have tried to use highlights in appropriate places as well as darker tones for shadows, and thicker lines to portray that there is a 'drop'. I used the gradient tool to render the charcoal grey body and the brush tool for the red highlight vents, grips and button cutout. I carely chose different tones to give a real sense that the product was 3D and not flat. I also used the burn tool in places to add shadow in appropriate places.
