adidas basketball net concept has three adidas stripes as rings around the bottom part of the net with adidas logo in the middle.
The idea was to upgrade a regular basketball net with some additional and cool looking elements, but also to keep everything simple and functional, so I came up with three stripes around that makes this net perfectly recognizable for the adidas brand.
The funny thing about the process was that I had started with the net only as a basic product idea, so then I needed a rim to put it on for a presentation, after that I've decided to design a whole basketball hoop construction since you can't have only a rim floating in the air, so then you guess what was next ...I had to place it on the court that I've made and, the result was a whole outdoor scene for a nice presentation that I've implemented in Unreal Engine 4 using a great free City Park environment. All this for a net! :)
By the way, you will probably notice that I've made a slightly curved backboard on the basketball hoop construction, so the idea behind this is not to help each indirect shot goes into the basket (like I saw someone already made for fun), but totally opposite. It should make a game a little bit harder and force a shooter to be 100% precise and never use a backboard for a long distance shot. Of course I also wanted to come up with a new, not ordinary look for the backboard, because why wouldn't we have a slightly curved basketball backboards like we have curved TV screens and monitors. :P
