Mambo Breweries

My client is a hip, up and coming brewery that is called Mambo. Mambo
is a company that focuses on the community and togetherness. They want
people to come together and share the moment and involve each other in
all they do the same way as a community does.
Although Mambo is suitable for anyone, the design was created to reach
a target market that includes and focuses on the youthful crowd that
meets up to chat, grabs a bite to eat, just socialises over sport or just
enjoys catching up over a braai. Their aim is to bring people together with
the spirit of Ubuntu and to enjoy the little things in life that they generally
wouldn’t notice unless they are involved in the community or are sharing
moments with friends and family.
The concept I wanted to explore was that of a community and leadership,
thus I used a shield as part of the symbol for my logo. The shield in African
cultures is a symbol of strength, of hope and of togetherness, just like the
spirit of Ubuntu.
The name Mambo means King and I wanted to showcase that in the name
of the beer. Since our target market is a more youthful crowd and in
African cultures the youth are considered a gift as they will be the future
leaders of tomorrow. Thus I came up with the name Mambo, as it shows
that Royalty is our Identity.
The idea with some of my sketches was to use things that are native to African Culture as well as things that are found and used in the beer industry
Once I had my final logo created I then had to choose a pattern as well as colour scheme.
For my pattern I decided to take my logo elements and break them down in order to use these to create my pattern for my branding.
Once all of these elements were created and I had added the colours, these were the two final options for my two beers.
I also decided to create some additional marketing elements to help promote my beer.
