Cartoon Network, Boomerang, Nickelodeon, Fox Kids ect. was a big part of my childhood growing up; and TV Shows like Dexter's Laboratory was one of my personal favourites. I had toyed with the idea of doing a mix of 2D and 3D elements for some time, but was a bit unsure of how to present them, especially since old shows like this were drawn in the old 4:3 format.
I then found some isometric work online through Behance and ArtStation which quickly inspired me to incorporate that style into this project. Doing the classic title screen was always a must and I did find the correct fonts that matched up with the TV Show of old.
Looking at Dexter's Laboratory in 2020 was very nostalgic for me which helped push me to get that same level of fun and quality of work out of this project that it deserved.
Below is a representation of my Dexter's Lab Diorama, that you're able to pan around and zoom into via Sketchfab. The model has had to be optimized so that it meets the 100mb file size limit. I have also used Sketchfab's own materials as to keep that limit as low as possible.
