Exo-suit or Soft Exoskeleton
One of the most challenging areas of robotics requiring advanced and complex research
is exoskeleton.
Traditional Exoskeleton with rigid links and actuators are capable of
tracking the torque and displacement trajectory accurately but are heavy and not com-
pliant to the human body. In order to find an alternative to rigid actuators, researchers
around the world tried to mimic the human muscle that lead to the development of a
new domain called Exo-suits.
Existing Solution:
The artificial muscle used in the present design of exo-suit is tendon sheath actuation
where it overcomes the disadvantages of other common artificial muscle such as slow
response, small strain or stress and specific requirements of power source
Exo-suit need to be attached to the human body comfortably and transmit forces over
the body through the load paths efficiently.
