‘Is death penalty effective in preventing serious criminal offenses?’
Thousands of crimes are committed everyday and probably hundreds are occuring right now in the world. as there are crimes everywhere in the world,so are the punishments. It is said punishment must fit the crime..One of the punishments is death penalty. It should be adopted as a form of punishment though it doesn't have a very successful record in this regard yet it is effective in reducing  such crimes.
According to Amnesty there are 106 countries where use of death penalty is not allowed by the law.they say it's the violation of human rights and doesn't help in dettering crimes. On the other hand There are countries which permit death penalty. The crimes are commited on the large scale because the culprits do not fear as there is no greater punishment for the crimes. The more the punishment, the more the fear will be among the criminals.
In 2020 between January and june 1,489 cases of child abuse has been reported  as there is no strict implementation of law for such crimes.while in 1981 in Lahore  ,General Zia regime sentenced the kidnapper and killer to death .the killer was publicly hanged  though this punishment doesn't stoped such crimes but it almost reduced the crime between 1983 to 1992 we had only 11 similar crimes.
China is the world's most active death penalty country it executes more people than the rest of the world and there is very little violent crime in china according to their population their crime rate is very low.
Pakistan should administer the will of God on earth as revealed by God in the Holy Quran.according to Islamic law crimes, such as sodomy rape and incest are punished by the death penalty and it is practiced in almost all Muslim countries.
