Deserta is the first self-published project of the photographer Ariadna Arnés. It collects images taken during the almost ten years in which her work trips to the Arabian Peninsula, as a wedding photographer, have been happening. Ariadna Arnés photographs what surrounds her and those who accompany her; their moods and their waiting hours, and shares these images through Instagram.
The book initially was raised as five independent books. For the final book design, the five books were joined into one, divided into five chapters. These chapters correspond to the hashtags she uses when sharing the images: #strangeplace, #fotosdesdemiventana (pictures from my window), #lachicaqueseaburreenloshoteles (the girl who gets bored in hotels), #iloveairports and #friends. On the spine of the book, each of the five interior books can be seen, bound independently and sewn into a single volume.
