Wave Neuroscience Inc's profile

Candidates for MeRT Therapy

A research and development partner of the USC Center for Neurorestoration, medical technology developer Wave Neuroscience, Inc. holds several patents for devices that use electromagnetic stimulation to treat brain conditions. Wave Neuroscience, Inc. applied decades of scientific research to develop its unique magnetic e-resonance therapy (MeRT) approach, which modulates abnormal brain waves.

MeRT is a form of neuromodulator therapy that uses magnets and transcranial stimulation to normalize brain waves and improve interneural communication. MeRT is recommended for individuals with a range of disorders and conditions, including post-traumatic stress disorder, traumatic brain injuries, autism, and depression. Transcranial stimulation may benefit patients whose symptoms are unresponsive to oral medications, as well as those who experience negative side effects.

Candidates for MeRT must not have any internal medical devices, such as a pacemaker or cochlear implant. MeRT is also not advised for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, or patients with brain cancer. Patients with conditions such as epilepsy and bipolar disorder may require extra consultation before qualifying for MeRT.
