우리와 북한의 생활모습이나 문화가 많이 달라졌다고 하지만
북한과 우리는 크게 다르지 않습니다.

바다에서 어업활동을 하고 학생들은 학교를 다니고 사랑도 합니다.
우리는 평범하고 평화로운 일상을 보냅니다. 그래서 북한에 대한 이야기는 동떨어진 이야기로 여겨질 수 있습니다.
하지만 우리는 분단국가입니다. 남북 접경 지역인 인천에서는 동떨어진 이야기가 아닙니다.
어부 인터뷰
"남북간의 긴장감이 커지면서 해상군사 연습을 인천바다에서 하더라구요.
시민입장에서는 언제 북한과 전쟁이 터질지 모른다는 공포감이 있어요. 그리고 저 같은 어부입장에서는 매일 바다로 나가서 일을 해야하는데 과거의 해상전쟁 때문에 일하기도 심적으로 힘들고 무서워요."
과거의 해상전쟁으로 인해 우리와 북한은 지울 수 없는 상처를 입었습니다.
그리고 소중한 사람들을 잃은 국민들은 슬퍼하며 서로를 그리워만 하고 있습니다.
이러한 일이 더 이상 일어나지 않도록
인천광역시는 2018년 10월, 남북교류 협력담당관실을 신설하였습니다. 또한 민관협력을 구축하기 위해 평화도시 조성위원회를 출범하고 서해평화포럼을 창립하였습니다. 평화를 위한 남북교류 활성화를 위해 서해5도 남북 공동 어로구역을 설정하였습니다.
우리가 해야 할 일은 역사를 잊지 않으려는 노력과 서해평화에 대해 관심을 가져야합니다.

They say that life and culture of North Korea have changed a lot from us.
We are not much different from North Korea.
I do fishing activities in the sea and students go to school and love.
We have a normal and peaceful daily life. So the story of North Korea can be considered as a faraway story.
But we are a divided country. It's not a far-off story in Incheon, near the inter-Korean border.

"The tension between North and South Korea has grown, and they are practicing at the sea in Incheon.
From a citizen's perspective, there is a fear that a war with North Korea may break out at any time. And from a fisherman's point of view, I have to go out to the sea every day and work, but it's mentally difficult and scary to work because of the maritime war of the past."
Due to the maritime war in the past, we and North Korea suffered indelible wounds.
And the people who lost their precious people are sad and miss each other.
So that this doesn't happen anymore.
In October 2018, Incheon Metropolitan City established an office for inter-Korean exchange and cooperation. In addition, to establish public-private cooperation, the Committee for the Creation of Peace City was established and the West Sea Peace Forum was established. To promote inter-Korean exchanges for peace, we have established a joint fishing zone for the five islands in the West Sea.
All we have to do is try not to forget history and pay attention to peace in the West Sea.
