Syrian 2020 / Typography posters series
This year was hard on everyone, especially for the Syrian People there.
Aside from Covid-19, the people there are still suffering from the war consequences, world sanctions, starvation, and fires rage.
That’s all with the country's limited resources after the years of war.

A series of Typography posters I designed to express my feeling towards these heartbreaking events and to capture some of the problems that the Syrian people live everyday.

The saddest Moodboard I have ever worked on.
Starvation
World sanctions on Syria are impacting every Syrian.
People are starving and fighting for survival.

Then a Massive forest fires rage in Syria, and it didn’t stop. it kept getting bigger and bigger.
It has killed two people and forced thousands to flee.
many people lost their agricultural crop, which was their only income to live.

Poverty line
Because of the sanctions and the years of war, more than 80% of Syrians live below the poverty line!
The idea was to make a line from the word “خط" which means line, to present the poverty line and show how much of the Syrian people (السوريين - the vertical word) live below it.

Syrian Passport
For some people, a passport is a portal to the world. For others, it is a barrier to the travel freedom they seek.
Throughout the Pandemic, all the people were angry and annoyed because of the travel limitation, but it is a temporary situation, but for the Syrians it's the permanent situation, it's the normal.
the Syrian Passport ranked 104 out of 106 worldwide, it's so hard to travel to almost any country because of all the travel restrictions that the world has forced on Syrian people.
The idea was to use the Arabic kashida (القشيدة) to stretch the word passport (جواز سفر) and make the prison bars, as a sign for travel restriction.

It’s the first time I talk about my country -Syria-
But it’s really sad and heartbreaking seeing your people starve and fighting for survival during this year.

Thanks for watching!
