OnePlus Gaudí Brand Identity

OnePlus Gaudí Brand Identity
OnePlus Gaudí, the creative force behind Oxygen OS, aims to empower people with meaningful technology. Deep rooted in Never Settle culture, we are serious about doing great work. By pushing the pixels and following rigorous validation process, we believe good design speaks for itself. We live for relentless curiosity and principled imagination.
We care about people. By cultivating a flexible and inclusive environment, we give everyone a fair shot to share perspectives, thoughts, feedbacks and life moments.
Why did we choose the name Gaudí?

Antoni Gaudí was a Catalan architect known as the greatest exponent of Catalan Modernism. Gaudí's works have a highly individualized, sui generis style. Most are located in Barcelona, including his main work, the church of the Sagrada Família. Many people scoffed at Gaudi's remark that "straight lines belong to man, curves to God" and thought his insistence on curves was irrational. In fact, all the buildings constructed from Gaudi's hands have undergone precise mechanical calculation and structural rational design.

Sense and Sensibility

Similar to Gaudi’s design philosophy. Gaudi's architecture is natural, vibrant, unique, and full of imagination, but it has traces to follow and is very functional. From the construction of the entire building to the choice of a piece of glass color, have been functional considerations and precision calculation. Based on the analysis and our commitment to create an easy-to-use and intuitive operating system, the keyword that best fits our ideas is found: sense and sensiblity.

We try to find a similar pattern in nature to express our idea - the Mobius ring.
It is often associated with the concept of infinity because people can track infinite uninterrupted paths along its single surface. This strip is also associated with unification and fusion because, in the construction of the Mobius strip, the two sides are connected and become one side and one side. Similarly, some people think that the Mobius ring is a suitable symbol of the relationship between space and time - they look apart, as the two sides of the Mobius ring, but are not actually separated; Space and time are not completely different, they together make up our universe.

We tried to design with Gaudi's letters or more complex ring shapes. But considering that more concise graphics are easier to remember and can be seen clearly in shrinking situations, eventually intercepted the typical cross of the Mobius ring as our logo.
