Gods Away on Business is a series of small ink and water color drawings I am producing in 2021. It is a response to a life long fascination with the Inferno by Dante Alighieri. The poets description of Hell, beautifully illustrated by poet/artist William Blake among many others is depicted in my interpretations less literally via elements of color, structure, space and mood. Dante's 1320 vision of hell is a universe of spaces, lights, and emotions which reflect our contemporary world and have fueled my imagination in this series of drawings.
