ADVE3630: Web Design

The introductory project to Web Design was to create a webpage and edit existing pages using HTML and CSS coding. The project taught familiarity with the world of coding, terms, and practices along with application to pull it all together.
2 Screen-caps of my final webpage (to show the full scroll)
A few screen-caps of my progress. Building the structure for the side-by-side photos that open into a new page was an interesting route I decided to take that definitely paid off! Same with adding small details of the "divstripe" details under the heading and the layered type in the heading.
Part 2: Adjusting the code on 4 existing websites for easier accessibility, more pleasing aesthetics, colors, type, etc.
For this site, I edited the background color to be more interesting, and then I had to change the body text color along with the heading format. I also edited the links within text to be bolded, white, and underlined.
This site had huge body text, so I shrank the body text- especially the last paragraph about the author. I also changed the background color to more of a light blue rather than the harsh white that it was.
On this site, I changed the background color from black to white. The dark black with piercing white text was straining my eyes. The body copy I then made a dark gray with green links.
This last site, I played a lot with the header. It felt scattered and insignificant, so I made the type formatted to match the rest of the page along with putting it in bold for emphasis. I also changed the size of the introductory paragraph about the author. Lastly, I made the site's heading a light pink and the main background a pale blue to make it feel closer to the brand.
