This project consisted of a process of experimentation with glass to design an object. I wanted to take advantage of the transparency of this material to generate light effects in spaces.
I realized glass stores have a lot of glass they can’t use because it is too small to make a window or a picture frame. I wanted to give purpose to these pieces so they wouldn’t go to waste.
The most important thing was to put the fragments of glass together. I experimented with many types and shapes of glass and binding materials to get the pieces together, like plaster, red clay, white and gray cement.
Finally, these fragments are turned into a skylight, allowing light to pass through the concrete in a jalousie.
