This was my entry project for 2021 Volvo design challenge "The Volvo Elements". Volvo is the brand that represents Swedish Life Style. So what should be the element that can express Swedish Life? My selection was "The Water". There was the legendary trasportation in Swedish history. It's viking ship. This Speedboat has ideal DNA to express what Swedish Life is. This is the reason i chose "The Water" for Volvo element.
Every City has "Water". It is one o f the most popular nature where people love to go. For picnic, walk, jogging, even comute. It's the river. The river has been the central culture hub for people in the city. Yet this nature still hasn't showed it's potential. This is the promising environment for future transportation.
Starting with the Exterior design, the design is fully focused on successing the shape of viking ship. The slim front and end of the ship is ideal for fluid dynamics and the wide width gives advantage for spacious interior design and dynamic character line. The old Swedish design transformed into new futuristic marine transportation.
Interior design has another feature of Swedish design. It's the simplisity that never compromise the beauty. Scandinavian Interior is famous for using eco friendly material and showing natural atmosphere.
It took about 3 weeks to finish the 2 projects (IN, EX ). the Schedule was very intense but I really enjoyed exploring the design during the whole process.
