Children Tactile Book Design-The Secret Garden
The Children Tactile Book Design-The secret Garden was my favourite previous Publication Project in 2020. In this project, I contributed my design skills both on screen and handwork. The Secret Garden was designed for children and young teenagers between 7-14 years old who are in elementary school( basic reading ability or children with the assistance of teachers or parents). The type font is chosen Candela( a round, stroke-free and soft font), consider the best suitable deliverable prints for current selected target readers. This book is printed by 5*8 inch, the small and light are also provide a convince for readers to hold and read.
My exterior cover is an illustration about a desolate garden wall. This illustration explains the desolate garden in the story. In the middle of the cover, I designed a flexible door. To make this flexible door, I use cutting and collage approaches. Once the door is opened, the opened area shows a part of the inside cover: Mary, Collin and Licon stand together and laugh. This movable door is a tactile design that I carefully planned on the cocker. It represents a design that changes the story by opening tactile design.
