The Gift Booklet Project

The Gift Booklet Project
Several weeks ago, I began the process of making a gift booklet for my sister-in-law, who was expecting a baby when I began this project (she had her healthy baby a couple of weeks ago!) I knew at the beginning of this project, that I wanted to make sure this gift booklet emulated my sister-in-law and her new role as a mother.
I began with sketching several variations for the spreads. I sketched the spreads with all the text,
I then started digital sketches for the spreads and the cover pages! I went through many variations and received a lot of feedback from my peers. They were able to steer me in the right direction and help me see some flaws in the layout and design.
This is the first ever spread digital drafts/sketches!
After receiving feedback, I was able to add color and refine the layout a bit using grids.
I then started digital drafts for the covers, I made several variations for them, here they are below.
After many many weeks of feedback a working on my project, I finally finished the gift booklet project (shown below). As you can see, I have changed a lot of things from the first draft sketches to the final! I am very very happy with everything about this project, considering it was my first time really working with grids to form an appealing layout.
