The assignment I got from this class was to design an alter ego for myself, in illustrator. A superhero. But what kind of superhero?
After a lot of struggling with sketches, making different moodboards, figuring out the characteristics, physical appearance, I wondered: "Which superhero movie do I really love, and what kind of house style does it have?"

The Incredibles.
A movie I loved since I was little.
A superhero family fighting against evil.
I started by looking up illustrations and use of color, based on more research I decided to inspire my alter ego through the styles Pixar used in The Incredibles.....

After making the base in illustrator, an environment had to be made in an other Adobe program.
Yup, you probably guessed it right: in photoshop.
Part of the assignment was that the environment had to contain 2 photographed elements.
Mmm what about her fighting against evil.. in space?
A little dramatic? Of course not.
She is a super hero after all, right?

Once I chose 2 photographed elements (background: stars, ground/base: Mars), there had to be a bad guy. Or at least something you could refer to a bad guy.
A shadow/silhouette of the bad guy reflected on the base.
After that, there was a lot of experimenting with colors, gradients and point of views, which was super fun to do. A lot of different scenes were created, and put in a GIF.

I really enjoyed experimenting with Adobe photoshop and illustrator this way and getting to know the programs.
