Good Swim is a school that provides swimming lessons to children and people of all ages and abilities. The school strives to promote inclusivity and refers to water as the “great equalizer” as they work with many children with special needs. Currently, the school uses a residential pool in San Antonio, Texas and wishes to expand to a bigger site on Broadway street, a rich location that has direct connection to major highways and important landmarks. The presence of plant life is an important request from the owner of the school for users to swim and observe among nature.
The architecture proposal aims to embody the mission of Good Swim School and provide an inclusive environment with spaces equally accesible and enjoyed by all, immersed in a natural environment within the urban context.
