Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla (Stop Motion)

Insight Behind the Film
This film was my final project for my Animation 1 class at Anne Arundel Community College. In addition, this was my second attempt at stop motion film. I ultimately chose to do a fight scene between Godzilla and his robotic counter part. The figures don't perform acrobatic or elaborate moves because I wanted to capture the slow and graceless movements in old school Godzilla movies. Creating this project had a slew of challenges. For one, I had to work in my rather small room, fostering very limited wiggle room for small adjustment. My window was also am obstacle as it would allow the sun to shine through the room which would ultimately hinder the consistency of shots because of altering lighting throughout the day. Finally, I had to dig extra deep to find the right special effects weather it be missiles firing at  a certain angle or the right atomic breath for Godzilla. As challenging as this experience was, it indicates range of my skill when it comes to storytelling.
Post Production Challenge
As it was mentioned in my previous paragraph, there were plenty of challenges I had to overcome when creating this project. I found all of the effects scene in film on YouTube. Luckily I found a video of projectiles firing at different angles, it allowed me to include shots with MechaGodzilla that would otherwise be excluded from the film. Furthermore, I implemented color grading to enhance the visual aesthetic of the film. Cardboard boxes were utilized as background and foundation to unify and establish a coherent setting.
