The global scenario sees the worsening of climate change, deforestation and over-exploitation of water resources. At the same time we are also witnessing a demographic increase and an ever more consistent migration towards urban centers, in which however there is a risk of food scarcity. Furthermore, an evolution of morality is leading more and more people to approach the issues of sustainability, preferring 0km products.
What should we do, then?

As a designer I have focused my research on the relationship between people, food and available living space. It came out that millennials primarly lived in small apartments and what most prevents them from eating more organic food is its expensiveness and their lack of space, time, or competences in growing veggies.

The result was the development of an aquaponic system that allows people to grow their own vegetables even in small homes in a natural way, also taking into account the well-being of the fish inside.


Vida

Vida can be built with wood and PMMA, both in their recycled form. Furthermore, it is completely demountable so that each component can be replaced or separated at the end of its life cycle. The triangular shape keeps water flowing through the grow bed and also aids in the collection of debris at the bottom of the water tank.
