A Prototype Design for Integrated Group Sports
Human Centered Technology for Disabilities- Autumn 2020
This project proposes an interactive mobile application UI designed for young people with Intellectual Disabilities. The goal is to engage the user group in integrated community sport activities of their preference.
A simple interface design for the end users would enable them to choose, plan, and engage in integrated group activities and remain physically active together. Young adults with ID will be able to develop strong social ties and will feel a sense of belonging and worth. This would increase the probability that the target population will remain motivated and continue with the activity.
Mobile application screens are designed to be simple and interactive that allow users to plan their group sport activities within the region of Stockholm. The functions are designed to provide accessibility and motivation to the desired focus group
- Sign up and create a profile & Log in
- Search for and choose an activity
- Register/Unregister for an activity
- Options for filtering (location, date, type of activity)
Inclusive graphic design principles were brought into the design process of the prototype to align with accessibility guidelines and create design to cater needs of the target user group. The application used to develop the prototype design are Adobe Illustrator and the Figma tool.
