36 Days of Type 2021 - Alphabets

36 Days of Type is an annual project that is open to all designers, illustrators and graphic artists to express their particular interpretation of the letters and numbers of the Latin alphabet.
This was my first outing at the event. I've created the alphabets with my developing set of skills.
Challenges like these are an opportunity to learn a lot, try new ideas and push yourself to the limits.
My inspiration for this animated series was the resource 5000 Indian Design and Motifs.
Below are the set of designs and motifs (from the above resource) used to create the alphabets.
A - C
Harappa culture: Mainly Mohenjo-daro and Harappa seals, dolls, toys and pottery.
D - G
Sanchi Stupas: mainly railings and gateways
H - J
Punch-marked coins and pottery: mainly Taxila and South India
K - O
Ajanta and Bagh murals
P - T
Muslim monuments: Mainly Agra, Delhi, Fathepur Sikri, Bijapur, etc.
U - W
Buddhist, Jain and Brahminical temples
X - Z
Jewellery and metal wares: mainly Rajasthan and South India, including folk specimens.
This project was entirely driven by open source tools.
3D Modeling & Animation in Blender
Font: Baloo by Ek Type
Vector design in Inkscape
Photo edits in GIMP
Fluid simulation (alphabet N) on Web by Pavel Dobryakov
Feel free to share you thoughts, comments and suggestions. :)
