TASK 1
Critique and Redesign
Within the digital newspaper above, the text structure indicates that the title is the prominent piece of text since this is located in the top middle of the page. It follows a sub-heading, main title of the article, the authors name, date of publication, and paragraphs below. The typeface used for the title is Bold Calibri, while the subheading has Helvetica black. The main title is also Calibri regular and the author details containing date are Times New Roman. The subheading is depicted in a highlighted bright red background colour which allows readers to instantly see the demand or advertisement the brand is selling. It then follows the title. This is condensed and is somewhat a size larger compared to the subheading. Its thin typeface permits a more professional look to the website and not show too much expanding within this very tight space. The paragraph is readable and is positioned in a western culture format to help readers navigate through the page. The size and weight of the title are a lot bigger as well compared to the other text due to its bold and thick lettering and space is very prominent within the website to determine what the structure is. The authors details and times is noticeably smaller than the paragraph content. The overall design is very effective for readers through its minimal format to understand what they are meant to see first, especially reading information from a newspaper digitally. Too much condensed text would make readers have a hard time navigating through the text. I wouldn’t change much besides the highlight text for who the author is. Although, the space is already prominently effective with its different colour tone to distinguish difference, having that different highlight would show more clarity of who wrote the newsletter.
Redesign
As mentioned previously, I wanted to change a different text colour tone within the authors name to distinguish who wrote the newsletter. other parts of changes were the positioning of the image, placing it at the top below the title and the subheading. While pushing down the other information to have a better distinguish within the hierarchy of the website. I believe this is the best way that can benefit the readers to analyse and navigate through the article.
