The poster below shows a reusable Starbucks cup, the reason for this was to explore the environmental impact and sustainability of the existing cup.
Starbucks have recently released a polypropylene reusable cup that is meant to last ten uses, but is realistically only lasting five. Now the problem there was the fact that the user has to pay $1 for the cup and recoups $0.10 for every time they reuse the cup. As you can see the customers are left with a short fall of 50 cent when the cup fails, so my idea was to find a plastic that lasts longer. This plastic comes in the form of Arboform, it is a super strong, biodegradable thermosetting plastic that is made from Lignin, a by-product of paper manufacturing. This by product is mixed with flax or hemp and forms a plastic with the same properties as wood.
