Film photography is my way to constantly challenge myself to learn the nuances of photography. Film isn't nearly as forgiving (or cheap) as digital photography and it forces me to make sure every shot counts. Controlling the image from taking the shot all the way to printing that frame in the darkroom is an incredible experience. I shoot with a Nikon F3, Kodak Tri-X 400 and a variety of manual focus prime lenses but I also enjoy experimenting with different film stocks and different formats like half-frame and medium format. I love the rewarding challenge of shooting action sports on film without auto focus and all of the modern features digital cameras provide. All of the photos displayed here were shot, developed, scanned and edited by me.
Film Equipment: Nikon F3, 20mm Nikkor Ultra Wide, 55mm Nikkor Micro, 135mm Nikkor Q. YashicaMat 124G (120 format, square)
