the train station by the sea

Right before my trip to Sri Lanka, I'd come across an article on the same, in a Nat Geo magazine. There was a photograph of a train station in Colombo, accompanying the article. Somewhere in the back of my mind I got fixated on the image, and was determined to look for the station when I visited Colombo.
We did end up in Colombo, on the last day of the trip, but were given a mere one hour to ourselves, to roam the city. Shari and I, we took off immediately, trying to take in as much of the city as possible, there was so much to see in a single street. And right when we least expected it, there was a train station right in front of us. And an extremely pretty one at that. It was a tiny station, and the tracks ran right by the sea.
I'm not sure if it was the same station as in the magazine, but honestly, it really didn't matter. I thought I was happy enough running through Colombo, but this did it for me. It was one of my favourite, happiest afternoons. We walked along the tracks, I took pictures of her, and I took pictures of this young couple who were down at the station feeding pigeons.

Very pretty.
