The Greatest Gift

This project was a bit of a smaller one. I decided to do it inside of my Moleskine instead of on a standard sheet of paper. It was a something I've been thinking of a bit. I've read many articles about doing what you love, and spending your time wisely. It all sort of bunched up together within me and made me start looking at life as a full journey. It was just a natural extension to name the journey as the best thing life can give us.

So I started sketching some concepts:
And finally found the one that's show up in the bottom right corner of the image above. I chose it because I felt it had the best variety of type, while emphasizing the words that needed to be remembered. The swashy "y" came later, in order to add a bit of balance to the piece.
Sketching complete! Time to ink.
And, finally, the finished piece. It was definitely quicker to do, in part I believe because I didn't make it as big as usual. Still, I like that I was able to make lines that looked decent. I'm looking forward to improving my line strokes so that they are smoother.

Enjoy, and have a great one!
