Block Printing
Block Printing is a traditional Indian handicraft and textile practice of using hand-carved wooden blocks to print motifs and patterns on cloth, originally with natural dyes. The intricate patterns and dye recipes were passed down from generation to generation and continue to be used today.
This project explores the traditional block printing of India and replicate the entire process, as close to the original as possible from a home studio.
