PSA: Check box to become an Organ Donor

PSA Campaign: Become an Organ Donor
This is a student project I worked on for a graphic design class at BYUi. The requirement is to create a Public Service Announcement (PSA) print campaign with three posters. These posters will promote an important issue or topic that affects individuals and communities. The purpose of these posters are to motivate people to take action on a topic.

I chose to create posters to encourage people to sign up to be organ donors when getting (or renewing) a drivers license. In most states, this is the easiest way to sign up. The concept of the campaign, is that there are 8 major organs that can be donated to save lives.

There are also about 70 other things that can be donated (skin, veins, eyes, etc) that, even though they aren't life saving, can help people who are injured or have serious medical conditions.

If someone will just check the box to be an organ donor, they can save up to 8 lives and enhance the lives of many more people.

The posters that I created are designed to focus on three main organs (the heart, lungs and liver) and create an emotional attachment to the the people in the posters.

My goal in creating these posters, was for them to be clean, well designed, and easy to comprehend. They should be conform to the 5:5:5 rule (understandable at 50ft, 5ft, and 5in). At each distance another level of information should be conveyed. There should be a clear sense of hierarchy. Most importantly, I hope that when people see these posters, they motivate people to want to become an organ donor and understand how easy it is to do so.
