Fika is a french press coffee maker made for NOMAD Coffee’s clients, company from Barcelona which sell specialty coffee. Its 500ml volume allows to prepare until 4 cups of coffee at home to enjoy it alone or with family or friends.

Fika innovates in terms of manipulation with a handle that you can grab in two different ways to leave freedom to the hand’s movement, to make the user feel comfortable. We can also find this innovation in the cup and measuring tool’s design since the cup’s lateral cylinder allows the user to manipulate it with one finger as a fulcrum. The measuring tool also has a manipulation that differs from the traditional measuring spoon since the movement to grab coffee grind in the bag is vertical instead of a rotation. Those diferent manipulations need concentration, what reinforces the ritual’s concept. During that time, the user has to abandon every other activity to fully dedicate himself into the coffee preparation and therefore, obtain the best result.

Moreover, this coffee maker will integrate the use of terracotta and borosilicate to ensuregood quality and sustainability over time.
