Bamboo Treehouse
"If there was a traditional house in a bamboo forest in Japan—what would that look like?" This question originated this illustration.

The design of this treehouse is purely imaginative, however it certainly draws on the existing elements of traditional Japanese architecture.

The roof has a characteristic curvature and shape of a traditional clay tile roof, which can be commonly seen on residential and sacral architecture.

The supporting structure is inspired by the iconic Kiyosumi Dera in Kyoto, although in a much more modest form and scale.
