Campos Decaf Coffee - Packaging Concept

Background
Since founder Will Young opened his first Campos café in Newtown in 2002, Campos have been on a mission to help everyone love great coffee as much as we do, this includes decaf lovers. Coffee has the ability to inspire genuine optimism and joy. From your very first sip things magically get better; conversations flow freely, grand ideas flourish and new connections feel like old friends.

Creative Challenge
Repackage a line from campos coffee and extend its range to include two new products. With the world increasingly looking for products that work in harmony with our bodies, it’s time for campos, in its own way, to share its secret more broadly. Your challenge is to create packaging designs which enable this to happen, without losing the curiosity of the brand.

Execution
Decaf doesn’t have to be an inferior coffee offering. It can, and should be, a great tasting option alongside the other origins from which the customer can select. Customers love the taste of coffee. Really good, hand crafted, quality coffee. However, some of them reach a point in the day when caffeine is preventing them from enjoying another cup.

I have repackaged and extended the Campos decaf coffee line. To ensure the highest quality in the cup, top coffee is selected from producing partners and then the Swiss Water Process is applied which gently removes caffeine without the use of chemicals. The new line introduces the following new bean origins and tasting notes;

Colombia Carlos Tunubala
A syrupy and bold blend, sweet like malt chocolate

Ethiopia Sidamo
Upfront chocolate and toffee tasting notes, leading into soft floral notes

Tanzania Idwili
Sweet blend like brown sugar, subtle fruits and lingering sweetness
