Grassy Caffè Premiados

Grassy Premiados is a package developed for the sale of exceptional Brazilian coffees, that is, micro and nano batches of awarded beans, with ratings above 87 points in the SCA - Society Coffee Association, roasted and marketed by Grassy Caffè, a coffee shop in São Paulo . The packaging aims to raise the perception of quality of national specialty coffee, valuing the entire production chain, from producer to roasting. It is made up of an organic, modular design box, which shelters 250 grams of coffee beans from the light, protected by a plastic bag with valve and tin-tie. As they are exclusive series of coffees, which require small batches, information about each product is displayed on a label, which also serves as a security seal. Brazil is known as one of the largest coffee producers in the world, exporting tons of beans per year. However, this raw material is treated as a commodity without much added value, and it was this perception of the product that we sought to change with this project. Therefore, we look to nature and modernist architecture for a form of packaging with a high visual impact, Brazilianness, elegance and functionality. The design of the “box” was inspired by the shapes and modulations of seeds such as coffee and mahogany and the curves of Brazilian modernist architecture, allowing not only a very unique look for the packaging, but also a possibility of surprising exposure and modulation. The box features two curved creases on the front and back, resulting in silhouettes similar to the shape of a broken coffee seed. To enhance the elegance, we opted for a minimalist layout and the use of high-end graphic finishes.
