More and more people will reach an old age and depend on foreign help. There will be a lack of nursing staff. This will have serious results on the nursing-destitute. Many people becoming old and will be pushed in the isolation. Solution attempts at the purely physical level will lead to a low success. It is important to give attention to the state of mind of nursing-destitute people. Only the interdisciplinary approach to existing problems creates here a satisfying result.
The draught of the present dissertation offers a solution for this problem. The functionality of the kitchen for older people, also those with impediments, as well as for young people has been moved in this concept.
With this concept should be aimed at excluding none of the possible users and at discriminating therefore. To the feeling of the isolation and the fears linked with it is counteracted by the communication thought. Here an exchange can take place on physical one as well as at emotional level between different generations.
Two essential basic needs of the person are served. On the one hand food and on the other hand the communication to other people without whom we become isolated and fall in an introverted behaviour pattern.

The creation of the kitchen is directed after the function and the social setting of tasks. The functionality, usefulness and versatility come first. Particularly the aspects of the communication, as well as those of the barrier freedom come to the fore.
