THE HAMMER OF THOR
God of Thunder, et cetera
It's been a while since I last uploaded an artwork, been tied up with work and what not... Now since i've recently watched the sequel of thor, I went to the store to look for a cheap hammer... Sadly they were out of stock so I decided to paint one instead... Here's a snippet of how I did it.
Step1: The sketch
STEP 2: Figure out the mood
-basically figuring out how the colors would look like...
STEP 3: Painting the hammer (this includes painting the textures)

STEP 4: Painting the handle and the strap
for those who love details... here's a closer look...
I traced the symbols you see imprinted on the hammer from a flat original hammer since I couldn't recreate it from scratch...I then applied the tints and stuff...
STEP 5: FINISHING UP
This involves refining the background and foreground, adding props etc.
Funny this is, the hardest thing I painted in this artwork is the silhouette of thor. :P
