WILDPARK GMÜND
Wayfinding · Information · Brand
▼ INTRODUCTION
The main task was to design a visual guidance system for an edible wild plant park in Schwäbisch Gmünd, which is currently being planned. This is to be realized with the EWilPa foundation. Previous, comparable parks show deficits in their visual design, which is why we as students of the HfG Gmünd should provide new impulses.

Thus, 3 subareas were to be designed. First of all, a new appearance was needed. This was then to be used in a spatial guidance system. Finally, information boards were required at the various stations of the guidance system.

▼ VISUAL IDENTITY
The new appearance must exist in nature. It achieves this through maximum visual distance. Straightforward and in colors distant from nature, it comes to be easily identifiable at all times and on any background.

It consists of thety, a logo system and pictograms for the areas of the park, the information system and the map.

▼ WAYFINDING SYSTEM
Due to the lack of fixed paths and walkways, the guidance system functions on sight. High, distinctive pile elements represent landmarks to which one can move freely on the site. Information boards are attached to and on smaller poles. These are variably interchangeable to accommodate seasonality. If boards are not in use "in the field", they can be placed on the reserve board at the planned parking garage. In this way, they continue to provide information without being actively in use. A map facilitates orientation. The large flag serves for long-distance orientation and effect.

The appearance and guidance as well as information system is supplemented by further specific applications such as plug-in signs for the identification of stationary plants (for example in a raised bed) as well as a leaflet.
