Digital painting of a faerie. Exaggerated proportions (and whatever is sprouting from the back) inspired by the work of Brian Froud and Allen Lee. At first I struggled with a concept and design for the wings, but I settled on a made-up moth pattern. I found it gave many opportunities for beautiful designs, while maintaining a realistic and recognizable shape and feel.
