HAND TOWELS - packaging

The previous wrap bands had been gold with a basic white crest and typography. They were simple, but were prone to scuffing and looked basic. The wrap band format and proportions also varied considerably across the range. To refresh the category without changing the classic product, a refresh of the wrap band was briefed.
References were taken from the stitching patterns used on the edges of the towels, and some of the architectural references that had been originally used for the patterns. Gold foiling was also added to lift the crest and text. In the original concept the faint background lattice (in grey) was intended to be a clear satin varnish, to produce a suitable visual texture/effect, but the cost of the 2 finishes combined (foil and spot varnish) was too high.
Below are mock-up samples show how the same wrap band style was intended to be applied to other Royal Collection Trust towel ranges - in this case the "brights" range.
