An evenly spaced grid and practice with Adobe Indesign are both fundamental to creating a good layout. 

This is because grids have the ability to add structure to a work, as well as create engaging spacing that will make the design more interesting for viewers. An effective application of positive and negative space can captivate any reader. I wanted to demonstrate the power of grids with this newspaper layout project.

My goal was to create a design that showcased my aptitude for layout through a simplistic and attractive design. 

I utilized Indesign by setting up a functional Master Page with page numbers, margins, rows, and columns. Once these were made, I was able create 3 distinct Character Styles for my text and select 5 pictures to display.
