As I'm always trying to expand my design skills, I sketched out and created an "about me" graphic to practice layout and composition.  As far as my sketch is concerned, I started with the header "ABOUT ME." I created that typeface and decided to place it directly against the top boarder of the canvas.  A lot of my design work is focused on symmetry, so it was a challenge to off center text, shapes, and the picture to balance them all into a unified composition.

Some components and ideas from the sketch did not make it into the final product.  While creating the design digitally, I decided to exclude the drop shadow as well as eliminate the bounding boxes for the text.  For the "ABOUT ME" header, I chose to increase the font size and due to this change, had to place the "ME" below the "ABOUT."  I chose the colors grey and a more saturated navy because navy is my favorite color.  And grey I thought would act as a good color to compliment it.

The order in which I created this graphic is laid out from left to right, starting with my sketch. I created new drafts taking away the background texture, making alterations to the image, and a change of typography.
FINAL PRODUCT:

Each time I would come back to look at the piece above, my mind would generate new ideas of what to add to the graphic.  I added a section explaining my personal logo as well as one about my strengths.

MY PROCESS:

1) Created a new canvas size for the design to fit this additional information
2) Added a second image on the left for composition purposes and variety
3) Added a negative opacity affect to certain words.  (The light yellow is the inverted color of navy blue)
4) Re-formatted certain text to balance the layout.
