The Curse of Anubis - Student Trailer

The Curse of Anubis - Student Trailer
This is my final year project that was put together in a year by myself and Laure Cornu

We had to create a short trailer with a theme of our choice, we decided to go with a very classic one, and try to create a trailer for a game.

I was in charge of everything but the character modeling/ rigging/animation and monster rig (Done by Laure Cornu) The sound was also made by myself.
In the end we had to present our project in front of a group of professionals.

It was a...difficult and stress full project to say the least. The project started out as 5 and got reduced to 2, Covid didn't really help aswell. I'm happy that we were able to hand out something in the hand, albeit it having lot's of problems. We were the only group that were 2 and we were probably a lost case during most of the year. Glad to have been able to finish in the end with a few shots that I really like. I would have liked  to changed a few shots and cut but well!

A lot of learning/changing camera shots/storyboard rework in a hurry, some last minutes changes, as a lot of part of the project was a first, such as the character rigging, animation, vfx and it's implementation in Unreal Engine. I had used Unreal once before for an asset render, a project this big was also new and I learned a lot about the sequencer, rendering and file organising in the software. The ability to make changes in the light somewhat quickly saved us so much time, we wanted to use Arnold for Maya at first but switching to Unreal was the best decision we did. I used fluidninja for the vfx which is a very cool plugin for Unreal. Glad to be done with it!

Probably my favorite shot
Unlit in Unreal
A few of the vfx I did
The evolution of pillar design. I spent a lot of time trying to come up with a cool design, it started very (too much) basic
