Jean de la Fontaine - Editorial design

The book of La Fontaine's fables was published in honour of the 400 anniversary of birth of the great french poet Jean De La Fontaine. It was published by young publishing house "Vaganar" with great support of the French cultural centre.
The idea was to create book in spirit of France, therefore all elements have one of colors from the flag of France (blue, white, red).

Decorative element which separates fable title from the text is the flag of France.
Publisher requested some baroque elements to the design, which resulted in floral initial.
Fleur-de-lis (lily), symbol of France, is used as a decorative element which separate messages for the readers.
